Our yard signs are here, McCravy votes against ballot drop boxes & more!

September 17, 2020

The Waldrep Works campaign yard signs are here and they look great! You can come pick up your sign for your yard this Saturday, September 19th, from 2:00-3:00 at Headley Downs Manor at 112 Reynolds Avenue. I'll bring them to your car for you or you can take a minute to walk around their beautiful yard while getting your sign! Thank you to Robert and Ken for providing us such a beautiful place for this!

We had a good discussion about building business in Greenwood during the COVID pandemic in our most recent Waldrep Works virtual town hall meeting with Greenwood business owners Laura Bachinski, Ann Gunby, and Danny Webb! Also, Mayor Brandon Smith talked about the BOOST Initiative that will be on the ballot November 3rd. Click here to watch the video. The Index Journal wrote a good article on the meeting which nicely covers the highlights and important points from the discussion. Click here to read it.

George Swindell is our Waldrep Worker this week! Belle is his faithful helper. George spends many hours every month keeping our Greenwood parks clean and in good condition. George also helped at Senator Floyd Nicholson's Fish Fry last Saturday. Thank you, George! We had a great time talking with the great crowd who came to support the Senator as they waited in the car line to get their fish dinners.  Send me a photo of yourself doing something to help your community and/or the environment so that I can share it to inspire others.

The good news in South Carolina is that yesterday, the legislature and governor approved no excuse absentee voting for the November 3rd election. The bad news is that my opponent, John McCravy, voted against drop boxes for absentee ballots, despite the fact that the SC State Elections Commission requested them. He stated that rejecting these boxes is a victory for sensible, secure voting. I don't believe that the Elections Commission would have requested anything that would make the election less secure! Also, there haven't been any objections to the use of ballot drop boxes prior to this! So, NOW is the time to call the Greenwood County Voter Registration & Election Office to request your absentee voter registration application: 864-942-8585. Or, you can download your own SC absentee ballot application by clicking here.  Print it, fill it out and mail it ASAP! Requests for absentee voting applications are already happening in record numbers!

A donation of any amount will help us get the word out that Denise Waldrep is ready to go to work for YOU!

Thank you for your encouraging words and financial support! You keep me going! Together, we're already making a better future! See you Saturday!

With gratitude,
Denise
